Welcome to Kivalliq Orthodontics. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Kivalliq Orthodontics website and your interactions with our orthodontic clinic and services. By accessing this website, contacting our clinic, booking an appointment, or receiving services from Kivalliq Orthodontics, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions. About Kivalliq Orthodontics
Kivalliq Orthodontics is an orthodontic clinic serving patients in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, and surrounding communities of the Kivalliq region. Our services may include orthodontic assessments, consultations, braces, clear aligners, retainers, follow-up appointments, and other orthodontic services determined to be appropriate by a qualified orthodontic professional. Treatment recommendations are individualized. Not every treatment option is appropriate for every patient.

Patient Appointments
Appointments may be requested by telephone, email, online booking, or other methods made available by Kivalliq Orthodontics. An appointment request does not necessarily mean that an appointment has been confirmed. An appointment is considered confirmed only when the clinic has provided confirmation. Patients are expected to arrive on time for appointments. Arriving late may result in a shortened appointment or the need to reschedule. Because appointment availability may be limited, particularly for patients travelling from other communities, we ask patients to provide as much notice as reasonably possible when they need to cancel or reschedule.
Missed Appointments and Cancellations
Kivalliq Orthodontics understands that circumstances can arise that make it difficult to attend an appointment. Patients should contact the clinic as soon as possible if they cannot attend a scheduled appointment. The clinic does not charge a cancellation or missed-appointment fee. Repeated missed or cancelled appointments however, may affect the availability of future appointments.
Treatment and Results
Orthodontic treatment involves individual biological factors and requires cooperation between the patient, the orthodontic team, and, where applicable, the patient's parent or legal guardian. Although Kivalliq Orthodontics will make reasonable efforts to provide appropriate orthodontic care, no specific treatment result or treatment duration can be guaranteed.
Treatment duration may vary depending on factors including, but not limited to:
The complexity of the orthodontic problem
Patient age and individual biology
Growth and development
Attendance at scheduled appointments
Compliance with treatment instructions
Oral hygiene
Use of elastics, aligners, retainers, or other appliances as instructed
Unexpected changes during treatment
Patients are responsible for following the instructions provided by their orthodontic team.
Patient Responsibilities
Patients are expected to:
Provide accurate and complete medical and dental information
Inform the clinic about changes to their health, medications, allergies, or medical history
Attend scheduled appointments
Follow orthodontic and oral-hygiene instructions
Take reasonable care of orthodontic appliances
Notify the clinic about broken, lost, or damaged appliances
Ask questions whenever they do not understand their treatment or instructions
For minors, a parent or legal guardian may be required to participate in treatment decisions, provide consent, or accept financial responsibility as applicable.
Emergencies
Kivalliq Orthodontics provides orthodontic care but is not a replacement for emergency medical services. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, severe injury, difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, or another potentially life-threatening condition, seek emergency medical assistance immediately. For orthodontic problems such as a broken bracket, loose wire, lost appliance, or irritation, contact the clinic for guidance as soon as reasonably possible.
Privacy and Personal Information
Kivalliq Orthodontics takes the privacy and security of patient information seriously. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further details.
Electronic Communications
When you contact Kivalliq Orthodontics by email, online form, text message, or another electronic method, you acknowledge that electronic communications may carry privacy and security risks. The clinic will take reasonable measures to protect information transmitted through its communication channels, but no method of electronic communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Patients should avoid sending highly sensitive medical information through unsecured communication channels unless specifically requested by the clinic.
If you provide your telephone number and separately opt in to receive text messages from Kivalliq Orthodontics, we may use your mobile number to send communications related to your appointments, treatment, scheduling, billing, and other services you have requested or authorized.
Providing your telephone number does not automatically enroll you in text messaging. Text message consent is optional and is not required to receive treatment or services from Kivalliq Orthodontics.
